“We will see later whether I will stay at Milan or not.” Signed Theo Hernandez. Thus, yesterday, the full-back from the retirement of the French national team: “I am focused on the European Championship”. And again: “A return to Spain? At the moment I’m not thinking about it yet.” The 26-year-old is especially linked to Bayern Munich, so much so that Germany has considered the agreement between the club and the player as a fact. The Bavarians have made moves for a possible replacement for Alphonso Davies, who is in the sights of Real Madrid. But now they are negotiating to retain the Canadian and in Spain there are whispers of a new Theo-Real track (hence the question in the conference). Intrigue.
The certainty is that Theo Hernandez is linked to the Rossoneri until 2026, even if the renewal with salary adjustment (currently 4 million) is far from definitive. To get him, however, you have to knock on Via Aldo Rossi with an offer of around 70-80 million which Milan will eventually evaluate. Possibly, because Ibrahimovic was clear: “We don’t need to sell”, his words on Thursday. And again: “Maignan and Theo Hernandez remain, as does Leao. They are among the strongest in their roles, they have long contracts, they are happy.” Except to add however, regarding the renewal of the two Frenchmen both expiring in two years: “In their situation everything is possible. If someone comes and tells me they don’t want to stay it’s a problem: anyone who doesn’t have ambition shouldn’t be here. But Maignan and Theo Hernandez are very happy, they have written history and they must continue to do so.”
The goalkeeper seems closer to permanence. And while the commission issue for Zirkzee remains, the certainty is Jovic: Milan will extend the contract of the attacker who arrived last summer from Fiorentina, who made a move on Pobega: it would free up space for Wieffer from Feyenoord, the latest idea together with Fofana (another intrigue with Juve and Rabiot). In black and white, however, the redemption of De Ketelaere’s Atalanta. Meanwhile, last night, Milan scout in Dortmund with a view to Broja returning to Chelsea from his loan at Fulham.
