It’s time for nineteen-year-old Riccardo Pianosi from Pesaro, who will represent Italy in kitesurfing at the next Paris Olympics. Yesterday morning the imprimatur of the Coni Marche in the presence of the president of the Coni Marche itself, Fabio Luna, of the Federvela zonal president, Saimon Conti, of the former sailing Olympians Filippo Baldassari and Michele Regolo, both Italians at London 2012, also present the president of the Club Vela Portocivitanova, Cristiana Mazzaferro, and the Marina Militare headquarters commander Ruggero Battelli, given that Pianosi is a member of the Cvp and the Marina Militare sports group. “I’m living my dream – said Riccardo Pianosi –, the one I’ve been chasing for some time and thanks to which I’ve gained so much satisfaction. It means that the work we’re doing pays off. I want to go to the Olympics to do something good, for me and for the country. I experienced this Olympic selection with great emotion, it was fought until the end and when I brought it home I felt a great weight going away. I will start the competitions in Marseille on August 4th, so I don’t know whether I will be able to be present at the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Paris, but nothing has been decided yet.”
“We are about fifty days away from the next Olympics, which our region has now become accustomed to experiencing by participating as a protagonist – recalled the president of Coni Marche, Fabio Luna –. Today we talk about Riccardo and thank him for representing the Marche, but the Olympics have always given us many athletes. Paris already has many qualified athletes, precisely fourteen, and we could beat the participation record of the Marche region which dates back to Athens 2004 with fifteen participants. And then there is our standard-bearer, Gianmarco Tamberi : in the last eight editions it is the third time that the standard-bearer comes from the Marche region. An emotion for all those who love our sport.”
