THE THIRD SPORTS OLYMPICS OF THE METROPOLITAN CITY STARTS FROM RUVO DI PUGLIA ON SUNDAY 16 JUNE

It will be Ruvo di Puglia’s turn to inaugurate the third edition of the “Metropolitan Olympics” promoted and organized by the Metropolitan City of Bari in collaboration with the municipal administrations of the Bari area, scheduled from 16 to 30 June in 26 municipalities in the area.

The inauguration will take place on Sunday 16 June at 10 am, in the Palazzetto in via Colombo.

The ceremony will see three performances by as many associations from Ruvo: ASD SOCCER RUVO which will propose a performance with the women’s 5-a-side football athletes, the Multipurpose Center “In the kingdom of Oz” and finally a sports dance performance prepared by ASD Revolution Dance

The third edition of the “Metropolitan Olympics” is sponsored by Coni Puglia, Sport and Health, FEDERFARMA, FIDAL (Italian Athletics Federation) FIGC – LND (National Amateur League), CIP Puglia Region (Italian Paralympic Committee) FITP (Italian Tennis Federation and Padel), FIJILKAM (Italian Judo Wrestling Karate Martial Arts Federation) and FGI (Italian Gymnastics Federation). The event will see 2500 athletes engaged in over 400 races in 24 different sports disciplines and 130 participating associations, 26 municipalities involved.

The Metropolitan Olympics includes two other stages in Ruvo: on the afternoon of Wednesday 26 June with the basketball tournament hosted at the sports hall in via Colombo and organized by the Asd Green Club and the Asdp Ruvo di Puglia Basket and on Friday 28 June, again in the afternoon with the football tournament organized in the sports field in via Volta by Asd Soccer Ruvo.
