Giani: “Together, united, for Florence and Sara Funaro mayor”
Sara Funaro thanks: “I appreciate that Stefania, who has always declared herself centre-left, consistently with her history and values, has publicly declared that she supports my candidacy in the second round and I thank her for this”.
With regard to Italia Viva, the party of leader Matteo Renzi: “Italia Viva invites all Florentines to go and vote next weekend: electing the mayor is a duty for everyone. Iv will not express any indication of vote, leaving its voters and its leaders – starting with the mayoral candidate and future municipal and neighborhood councilors – free to make their own assessments”.
Stefania Saccardi: “I find the attacks and statements that have been directed towards me in recent days quite strange. I have always been clear about my position. Just think of the slogan that characterized my electoral campaign: ‘change teams, without changing fields’. Therefore, to respond to the appeals addressed to me and dispel any doubts, between the right-wing candidate Schmidt and Sara Funaro, who I have known for many years and with whom we have shared a long journey, it is clear that in the run-off I will go to vote and I will vote for Sara Funaro“.
Then Saccardi: “I take this opportunity to point out to the press who have been talking about the ‘disappointing result’ of our list for days and that the numbers speak clearly: we obtained a better result than the latest data available. The only one that can be taken seriously. In fact, in the 2020 regional elections we received 10,638 votes, or 6.67%. Now, with 13,186 votes (over 2,500 more), 7.29%. So we have grown compared to the latest real data and we did so having to deal with a very difficult situation and an electoral campaign that polarized consensus both at European and local level. The reference data for evaluating the results cannot be indicated by surveys. I thank again the over 13,000 Florentines who once again placed their trust in us.”
