Just two weeks after the Natisone tragedy, two men, aged 36 and 45 respectively, this time in the province of Padua, attempted to cross the Brenta, in Fontaniva, in the province of Padua, and were overwhelmed by the river’s current. A new near tragedy.
The two men were rescued and saved by the firefighters.

Around 2pm, the firefighters intervened to rescue two people in difficulty in the waters of the Brenta river, in Fontaniva, in the province of Padua.
The fire brigade team from the Cittadella detachment, a SAF (Alpine Fluvial Speleo) team from Padua, and the Venice helicopter with divers on board were deployed on site.
The two young people, in an attempt to cross the river, were overwhelmed by the current: one managed to reach the bank, while the other remained clinging to a trunk.
A diver, lowered from the Drago 149 helicopter, recovered the man left on the trunk. The other, already on the bank, was picked up directly by the helicopter that landed on the river bank.
