Three concern the municipality of Agrigento and one each for the municipalities of Favara, Grotte, Lampedusa and Linosa, Licata, Lucca Sicula, Menfi, Palma Montechiaro, Porto Empedocle, Ravanusa, Realmonte and Ribera.
THE NEW PLAN FOR NURSERY SCHOOLS
These 13 interventions are part of the 898 financed by the Ministry of Education and Merit in 845 Italian municipalities.
The relative rankings derive from the announcement for the new nursery school plan, through which the minister Giuseppe Valditara intends to overcome – as per its declaration – the territorial and infrastructural gaps in children’s services, investing as much as 734.9 million euros (financial resources largely from national sources and additional to the PNRR.
Of the 13 interventions in the province of Agrigento, 5 concern a new construction or expansion (Favara, Licata, Lampedusa and Linosa, Realmonte and Ribera), while the other 8 concern the reconversion with demolition and/or reconstruction of an existing building not already intended to nursery.
64.7% of the resources go to the Southern regions, having recognized that there is a considerable amount in them gap. compared to the centre-north, in the coverage of the service for children aged 0 to 2 years.
THE STATEMENTS OF MINISTER VALDITARA
“We have implemented a highly innovative procedure, which has allowed us to directly identify the municipalities that are below the average of 33% coverage of the nursery school service, so as to pursue in a more incisive and uniform way the objective of activating services for the 0-2 year age group throughout the national territory. Each municipality has in fact received a specific target to achieve, with an indication of the resources due. We consider the strengthening of childcare services strategic to effectively respond to the needs of families and, in particular, of women committed to reconciling family and work life”, declared the Minister of Education and Merit, Giuseppe Valditara.
“Thanks to the Plan, and a considerable national investment, we will activate over 31,600 new places in nursery schools in 845 municipalities”- adds the minister.
“The interventions”-he concludes Valditara– “they will contribute not only to reaching 33% national coverage, but will bring us ever closer to 45% coverage, the objective set for 2030, and to the final target of the PNRR”.
