Flood, the appeal of local institutions from Faenza: the Government keeps its promises on reimbursements

“I hope that the government’s promises to guarantee 100% reimbursement of damages will be kept, because unfortunately today this is absolutely not the case.
We want to collaborate in the interests of the people who have lost everything, just as we must accelerate on the construction sites which are largely open, but where due to the rules that have been chosen there is a lack of personnel, who have not arrived. But we want to have faith”. This was said by Stefano Bonaccini, president of the Emilia-Romagna Region who, at the PalaCattani in Faenza, took part in the day organized one year after the flood to thank the volunteers and all the people who took part in the rescue efforts. .
“The first thought – says Bonaccini – goes to the victims and their families, because no one will ever give those 17 people back to their families and their communities. We will resolve everything else, but after a year it must be resolved more quickly and better what remains behind. Today is the opportunity for a big hug and a collective thank you to thousands of people who have demonstrated how generosity, solidarity and even professionalism have been put at the service of a very scarred land, but which every time proves that he knows how to react. There’s a lot of Emilia-Romagna in this: the idea that when you fall you get back up, but before running you look back to see if someone behind you needs a helping hand.”
