A 40-year-old from the Middle East had found refuge here in Bolzano, sentenced to 4 years in prison by the Court of Trento for the crime of criminal association with the aim of terrorism, and to 4 years and 10 months in prison in 2021 by the Court of Bolzano for abuse in the family.
Unemployed, after having served his sentences in prison and having recently obtained his freedom, the subject lived in a room to rent with one of his compatriots, without carrying out any work activity on a continuous basis.
In 2008 he was recognized as a political refugee, which was later revoked by the National Commission for the Right to Asylum. In 2021 he presented a second application for International Protection, which the Territorial Commission for the Recognition of International Protection of Verona rejected. The Court of Venice subsequently rejected the appeal in consideration of the seriousness of the accusations that emerged and proved during the sentencing sentences, believing that the appellant does not run any risk in the case of repatriation. The subject was part of the “JWEB” Association of Merano, which was responsible for preparing Islamic extremists willing to carry out attacks in Europe and around the world.
In consideration of what was mentioned above, as well as the absolute social danger shown by the subject and found during the trial, the Police Commissioner of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori, yesterday afternoon, issued an EXPULSION DECREE against him, with contextual Detention Order at the Repatriation Permanence Center in Gradisca d’Isonzo (Gorizia), where he was already taken last night with a reinforced escort by DIGOS agents and the Immigration Office of the Bolzano Police Headquarters, and where he will remain for the longest as short a time as possible, waiting to be boarded as soon as possible on a direct flight to the country of origin.

This type of Security Police activity to combat subversion and terrorism is aimed at preventing foreign individuals from taking root in our territory, often without the necessary qualifications to reside in our country, who, with their behaviour, cause particular alarm social and compromise civil coexistence”.
