Over the course of thirteen days it will travel along the entire Adriatic coast until reaching Santa Maria di Leuca
On Saturday 15 June from Piazza Unità D’Italia the Sports Councilor of the Municipality of Trieste Elisa Lodi kicked off the ‘challenge’ of Mauro Guenciof theASD Team Roller Senigallia (titled in national and international skating).
The ‘field’ of the challenge is long 1300km approximately and max 4m wide and crosses seven Italian regions and ninety municipalities, starting from Trieste to get up to Santa Maria di Leuca, the southernmost point of Puglia. A breathtaking route that follows the coast, without ever losing sight of the sea.
And the Adriatic cycle route, when it will be finished and this is also why Mauro Guenci, traveling along the Adriatica Cycle Route, wants to urge the end of the works, so that being one of the longest cycle paths in Europe, it is a spot for those who love active holidays. Thirteen will be the days (from 15 June to 28 June 2024), with a daily average of 100/120km, crossing the regions: Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Emilia Romagna, Marche, Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia. The absolute protagonist is the Adriatic, which accompanies those who travel it on a journey through different cultures and landscapes, which continually changes appearance. It mainly follows the coast and its routes are suitable for both expert and beginner cyclists and skaters.
Mauro Guenci’s challenge is to skate for 1300km and during these km, crossing the various regions, and perhaps be in the company of many people, friends, who join him by pedaling or skating for as many kilometers as they wish.
Everyone can book by sending an email to [email protected] (indicating name, surname, address, telephone number and size) the t-shirts official of the event, at the cost of 10€, which will be sent directly to his home. Proceeds from the sale of the t-shirts will be given to Disabled No Limits by Giusy Versace, Paralympic athlete and Italian champion of the 100 and 200 meters. The Association was created to give all people with disabilities a more independent life by donating aids that are not currently provided for by the National Health System. Giusy Versace she is also a senator of the Italian Republic, as well as secretary of the Senate and on 3 December 2022 she established the parliamentary intergroup for disability of which she is still president and spokesperson. The aim is to encourage the participation of athletes, skaters and pedallers, and to trigger a sort of solidarity competition between the seven Regions and the Municipalities crossed.

The initiative has the patronage of the Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Sport, Ministry of the Environment, National Coni, Sport and Health, Enit, Italian Roller Sports Federation, of the seven Regions crossed, of the Municipalities crossed, of Legambiente, Amondo.
It was thought that this ‘challenge’ is great, if taken individually, we wanted to do something special to make it immense, also making it a ‘solidarity challenge’.
Sport, in our opinion, must always be a vehicle for good messages and for being close to the less fortunate and so, we asked ourselves, why not involve many enthusiasts who think like us?
