Brutal attack in the external area of the Rimini Sick Hospital. A man awaiting surgery was headbutted by a stranger who asked him for a cigarette, which he denied. To aggravate the beating, a bite on the ear, partially brutally severed by the attacker from the victim.
It all happened on Thursday afternoon, a policeman on duty at the police station of the Infermi hospital in Rimini, had asked for the help of a squad of squad cars from the General Prevention and Public Rescue Office, to arrest a foreign citizen guilty of the crime of distorting the person’s appearance through permanent injuries to the face.
At around 5pm, the policeman received a report about an attack that was taking place outside the hospital. The operator immediately went to the scene of the incident, i.e. towards one of the accesses to the structure, where there were security guards, also on duty at the hospital, and a person who, despite being standing, was injured, with the face and head completely covered in blood, probably resulting from the visible lesion of the partial detachment of the left ear, wounds to the eyebrow of the left eye, abrasions to the head and arm. The latter reported that he was hospitalized at the facility awaiting surgery and that, while he was going to the bar to have a coffee, he was approached by a man who asked him for a cigarette. When he refused, the man began to attack him violently, punching him, headbutting him, biting his ear with his teeth to the point of detaching part of his ear. When the policeman arrived, the attacker was walking away, as if nothing had happened, but he was promptly stopped and with the help of the patrol car he was accompanied to the police station and subsequently taken, at the order of the Public Prosecutor, to the local prison in Rimini.
