TREVISO – This afternoon, 14 June, the funeral of Giulia Mauri took place in the church of the Sacred Heart in Treviso. the 38-year-old from Treviso who was hit and killed by a van on June 3rd along Strada Ovest while she was riding her bicycle on the cycle path. Friends, acquaintances and classmates from the Asd Ren Bu Kan Karate school in Treviso, where Giulia had become a third Dan black belt in karate, rallied around the 38-year-old’s family, her mother Giulia and her partner Matteo. The mayor of Treviso, Mario Conte, was also in the church.
Celebrating the funeral were Don Giovanni, parish priest of the Sacred Heart parish and the parish priest of San Pelajo, where Giulia lived with her partner. “The sudden and tragic loss of Giulia has left a void that nothing will ever be able to fill but we are certain that her kindness, her smile and her eyes will continue to live with us”, the words of the family who wanted to thank those present and the rescuers.
