LECCE _ In recent years, awareness has grown that energy transition is an extraordinary opportunity to reorient both public policies and the habits and lifestyles of families towards a more rational use of energy, enhancing the principles of efficiency and savings, as well as to accelerate the exit from dependence on fossil fuels, towards energy production increasingly based on renewables.

This is the theme of the conference “The challenges of the energy transition: security and sustainability”scheduled Monday 17 June from 16 in Lecce in the Aula Fermi of the IBIL Building – Department of Innovation Engineering of the University of Salento – Ecotekne Campus.

The event is promoted by: DiTNE (National Energy Technology District) And Order of Engineers of the province of Lecce, with the collaboration of AIAS (Italian Association of Security Workers) And University of Salento, with the support of A2A, Edison And Snam.

The energy transition path is a complex process that must be based, first of all, on two fundamental principles: that of safety, to guarantee the country system (families, businesses, local communities, public goods) continuity and certainty of energy supply even in a phase of extraordinary transition like the one underway; secondly, the sustainabilityor the direction that the future national energy system must take, in the name of renewableof thewidespread self-consumptionof theefficiency in the various sectors of daily life (from real estate to mobility, from production to services).

The full involvement of the territories (from local administrations to civil society, from technicians to businesses) is therefore crucial for consolidating awareness of the opportunities and challenges that the energy transition poses for everyone.

The Conference will be opened by greetings from the director of the Innovation Engineering Department of UniSalento Antonio FICARELLAof the president of DiTNE Arturo DE RISI and the president of the Order of Engineers of the province of Lecce Francesco MICELLI.

Speeches will follow: Francesco CORVACE (Manager of the Puglia Region Energy Transition), Giuseppe MONTEFORTE (CEO of A2A Energie Future), Giovanna POZZI (Director H2 Project Development Snam), Giorgio TRIGIANI (HSE & Quality Systems Edison Spa Management), Katerina MAROZAVA (ESG & EHS Advisor – AIAS member), Gabriele Menotti LIPPOLIS (Energy Delegate Confindustria Puglia). The work will be closed by Prof. DOMENICO LAFORGIApresident of AQP.
