The Minister of Sports, Andrea Abodi, gave a short interview on the sidelines of his visit to the Italian national team ahead of their debut at Euro 2024 against Albania. These are his statements collected by TMW: “When a competition starts we can’t help but be ambitious, without any presumption. On the other hand, you don’t play alone, there are other national teams with the same expectations. I’m confident, I saw our boys calm and motivated, with a very strong guide from a character point of view. I am convinced that they will bring out everything they have, they have promised to give their best to us and to all Italians.”
What is your opinion of coach Luciano Spalletti??
“Spalletti is the ideal guide in a phase like this, due to his characteristics as a man associated with certain technical characteristics. There is great harmony between him and the whole team.”
From Tamberi’s success at Euro 2024: what do you expect?
“Victories in sport are always a source of great pride, as well as an opportunity to promote sport and the discipline. Now we’re thinking about the next challenge, I’m convinced that we will move forward and do our part.”
