Terni, the new multipurpose fields in the San Giovanni district and Pallotta village have been inaugurated

The new multi-purpose fields of San Giovanni and Pallotta village have been inaugurated, with a multi-sport function (football and basketball). Two events are scheduled, the first at 10 in San Giovanni and the second at 11 in the Pallotta district. The city’s basketball sports clubs are present in San Giovanni.

The project of the Municipality of Terni is financed by the Pnrr – Urban Regeneration and involves the redevelopment of 7 playgrounds located in the peripheral areas of the city which will all be completed by 2025.

#giocarerigenera is the motto around which the guidelines that oriented the design choices were set: thematic variability of the sports areas, inclusiveness, safety, use of color, reduction of vandalism, all aimed at raising the level of attractiveness and functionality.

“An urban space to be lived in constantly throughout the day defends itself from unwanted access and use, an attractive and lived-in urban space becomes the heritage of the local community which tends to preserve it as its own” said councilors Maggi and Schenardi, inviting the children and families to take care of the space while waiting for the application of interest which will be prepared once the project is concluded to identify the company that will manage the spaces.

note from Roberto Pastura, FDI City Councilor

After the electoral defeat, the Bandecchi Council immediately took action by organizing a whole series of inaugurations in the city relating to the completion of some public works. It doesn’t matter if the original proponents of the redevelopment projects were the same as before, today the burden and honor of interventions under the PNRR and/or the Urban Agenda falls to the current majority. Unfortunately, however, in the general busyness, between one ribbon cutting and another, today the Bandecchi Administration forgot to organize a worthy inauguration for the redevelopment of the playground, that of the recreational-sports area of Villaggio Pallotta. What would the current majority want to tell us, that the inhabitants of the Pallotta neighborhood are children of a minor god? In addition to being a form of self-satisfaction with one’s work, the inaugurations are an opportunity to talk to the inhabitants of the neighborhoods, especially on the outskirts, to listen to their needs and, if necessary, their advice. In this sense, the pitch of the Pallotta Village represents a great opportunity for the inhabitants to finally be able to experience their neighbourhood, to provide the possibility for the little ones to play in the adjacent park. If this majority had organized a worthy inauguration and proceeded with a noteworthy communication approach, as happened a few hours earlier for the San Giovanni basketball court, they would presumably have had to organize preliminary inspections and would have realized that the redevelopment works were not they were all finished to perfection (this is also what we learn from some comments on social media). The paving of the camp, for example, appears to be already defective, a critical issue that could have been discovered earlier simply by talking to the inhabitants of the neighborhood. Instead, we preferred to work quietly, only with a handful of friends from Alternativa Popolare, just to seal yet another opportunity, which was also lost this time.
