LECCE – Accentuating the “social curvature” of the Regional Agency for active labor policies: this is the main road to the future of Arpal, an instrumental body of the Puglia Region which deals with the coordination of employment centres. Indicating the route were Gianluca Budano, new director of Arpal, and Sebastiano Leo, regional councilor for Training and Work, Employment Policies, Right to study, School, University, Professional Training.
In the morning, at the headquarters of the Puglia Region in Lecce, the penultimate appointment of the roadshow which started from Brindisi on May 20th was held. A traveling event, which has already stopped in the Bat, Taranto and Bari, to explain to the territories the scope of the new activity plan proposed by the director to implement the indications of the political bodies. The first objective remains the completion of the expansion plan, which involves the hiring of a further 250 units, the opening of the new offices of the employment centers and the implementation of the infrastructural equipment, at the basis of the relaunch of the office action.
“The Lecce stage – said director Budano – asks us about the relationships between employment services and the productive fabric of the small and medium-sized enterprises of which the territory is the bearer. Among the objectives of the Agency, in the context of increasing the efficiency of IDO (job supply-demand matching), we will bend the activities in order to adapt employment services to the productive world and not vice versa, asking our operators to visit the companies presenting our services, public and free”.
Also present were Silvia Pellegrini, director of the regional Department of Labor Policies, Education and Training, and Luigi Mazzei, director of the Coordination Unit of the territorial areas of Lecce-Brindisi-Taranto of Arpal.
“We organized this tour for Puglia – concluded councilor Leo – because it is essential to strengthen our connection with the territory. Arpal is the front office that takes care of direct dialogue with users, a dialogue on which the Region can base its policies. The joint objective is to create an integrated education, training and work system capable of responding to the needs of a constantly evolving labor market. We must, therefore, be able to valorise the aptitudes of individuals and systematize them with those of the territory; be even closer to social fragilities, implementing effective paths, and taking into consideration the phenomenon of the birth rate decline, which means investing in actions and tools aimed also at the less young”.
The next and last stop of the roadshow will be Foggia.
