According to what So Foot reports, Lindstrom would be close to Lyon. The Napoli winger has disappointed expectations, but the club doesn’t want to lose out. “Lyon would be in negotiations with Napoli for the loan of Jesper Lindstrom (24 years old). The two clubs are discussing and some Napoli sources announce that a verbal agreement is close, on the basis of a loan with the right to buy. The latest discussions concern precisely this option, which could turn into an obligation to purchase, the amount of which would be around 20 million euros. The attacking midfielder has agreed to move to Lyon.”
Excluded from Denmark for the European Championships: too little playing time with Napoli
Jesper Lindstrom, Napoli’s most expensive purchase in the last summer transfer market (25 million), is not in Denmark’s 26-man squad for the 2024 European Championships. The competition will be held from 14 June to 14 July in Germany.
Among those called up include many who have played in Serie A: former Atalanta players Maehle and Hojlund; the former Inter Eriksen; the former Bologna player Skov Olsen, but also the former Lecce and Sampdoria players Hjulmand and Damsgaard. Simon Kjaer’s experience could not be missing from driving his national team.
This year Lindstrom played 587 minutes with Napoli, very few times did he stay on the pitch for more than half an hour. He certainly didn’t deliver what was expected and his poor performances with the Azzurri meant that he was excluded from the Danish national team for such an important competition. Furthermore, he has always been one of the pillars of Denmark. He will have the opportunity to make up for it (we hope so for him) next season.
