Bergamo, the robberies of slot machines with masks and guns: punishment for almost thirty years

Giancarlo Mastropasqua goes back to prison with an 8-year sentence and the awareness that, in all probability, without the full confession, it would have ended much worse. His 27-year-old ex-wife is also in court. The two are at the center of a trial for mistreatment and sexual violence which will end on June 26 (she accuses him, who risks another 9 years), but yesterday, before the preliminary hearing judge Federica Gaudino, they were both accused of robbery. Four gunshots: one at the Ca Rotonda slot hall Brembate, from 6,150 euros, on 14 December 2022; one at the Green Bar in Treviglio, from 6,769 euros (plus cigarettes, scratch cards and telephone top-ups), on 28 December 2022; two at the Gold Cherry slot room of Martinengo on 19 December 2022 and 12 March 2023, respectively from 9,574 and 6,735 euros.

The 36-year-old from Casirate, defended by the lawyer Antonio Impellizzeri, had reconstructed in the previous hearing the roles, methods and equipment of the various expeditions, also talking about the clown masks and semi-automatic pistols, which he says he purchased from his ex’s stepfather. There were also stolen license plates and raised hands, which led to further charges of receiving stolen goods and injuries. The investigating judge ordered extra investigations against the woman and decided on 2 years, 5 months and 10 days in prison; furthermore, the spouses Pietro Pernagallo (prisoner) and Teresa Piarulli (to stay home), aged 57 and 55, from Merlino (Lodi), were sentenced to 6 years and 10 months, and Rocco Parise, 57 years old from Cariati (Lodi), to 5 years Cosenza, also in cell). All accomplices and all judged in summary, which guarantees a discount of one third of the sentence.
