Sportiuma company of the Progetto CMR Group specialized in the design of cutting-edge sports facilities, has signed the design concept for the new stands of theMonza racetrack. This intervention, promoted by ACI, is part of a broader redevelopment program of the circuit, aimed at providing the racetrack with modern and sustainable structures.
The new stands, conceived as a connecting element between the Park and the Autodrome, have two main characteristics: a scenographic roof and a louvered façade. The cover, inspired by the science of biomimicry and the wings of birds in flight, takes the shape of the wings of racing cars, resulting in lightness and impact. The laminated façade, with its curvilinear shape, gives lightness and transparency to the structure. Designed according to international best practices, the grandstand ensures maximum comfort and visibility for the public.
The Sportium project also includes spaces under the grandstand and the sky boxes, made with prefabricated modular modules. This modular approach not only reduces construction times and costs, but also allows the capacity of the building to be adapted to variable needs over time, maintaining the reversibility of the intervention.
The new building will respect the ESG criteria, ensuring inclusiveness and environmental sustainability. The stands will be accessible to all and equipped with a photovoltaic system for energy self-sufficiency and a solar thermal system for the production of domestic hot water.
The next phase of the project involves the detailed design of the first stands for a total of approximately 6,000 seats, with the aim of obtaining the necessary administrative authorizations.
