Monza. It has been online for a few days new website institutional of Municipality of Monza the result of an overall review project financed by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) as part of Measure 1.4.1 “Citizen experience in public services”.
The Municipality of Monza successfully participated in the call promoted by the Ministry for Technological Innovation and Digital Transition (MITD) in June 2022. The task of creating the new site was entrusted to Maggioli SpAwho worked in strict compliance with the Designers Italia Guidelines for Public Administration websites, drawn up by the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID).
The main objective of the project is improve usability, accessibility and the site design, conforming to common standards for the entire Public Administration. Particular attention was paid toaccessibility of contents for disabled users or those with limited technological capabilities.
The revision work involved dozens of editors present in the various municipal offices, coordinated by the Web Office – Institutional Communication and External Relations Service, to update and reorganize the contents with a logic oriented towards “service to the citizen”.
What’s new on the site
The new site features a renewed, simple and schematic graphic design, and improved navigation on both desktop and mobile. Four essential macro-items have been introduced:
1. Administration: information on the political and administrative management of the institution and office contacts.
2. New: news, press releases and alerts to stay updated on the latest news.
3. Services: detailed guides on the services offered, both digital and analogue.
4. Experiencing the Municipality (events and places): information on places of interest and events in the municipal area.
Furthermore, they have been integrated assistance services and direct contact through the Reports, Reservations, Contacts and FAQ sections. Browsing by topics and thematic sites facilitates the search for specific information, with direct access to thematic pages and more prominent contents such as online services, transparent administration, praetorian register and City Council.
Future prospects and listening to citizens
The project includes further implementations in the coming weeks, with the aim of continuing to improve the organisation’s communication systems. During this initial phase, some navigation difficulties may arise due to menu changes. Citizens are invited to carry out internal searches on the site rather than using search engines, which still require time to update indexing.
Following the “go-live” of the new site, the Municipality will have approx six months to further refine the navigation experience and complete testing of the new services before the certification operation. This verification, carried out by AgID technicians, will check the site’s compliance with the 20 required requirements, allowing the Municipality to obtain funding for 162,545 euros.
Mayor Paolo Pilotto commented: “The new website is built to provide quality services: the objective is to consolidate the role of the institutional portal as a point of reference for easily finding useful, timely and updated information, for submitting requests or participating in tenders directly online. We await useful suggestions from citizens to further improve aspects relating to the enjoyment and use of the site itself.”
