While the G7 dinner was underway at the Castello Svevo in Brindisi on Thursday evening, in a context of maximum vigilance and security, the carabinieri of the SOS (Operational Support Teams) of Naples they rescued an elderly woman who was trapped in her apartment where a fire had broken out. The woman’s seven dogs were also freed. For the carabinieri union Sim it is “an act of extraordinary courage that deserves the highest civil recognition”.
During their dynamic surveillance operations, the carabinieri noticed a house “engulfed in flames” and, Sim Cc reports, “they heard the desperate cries of a woman trapped inside. Without hesitation, the soldiers approached the burning house, initially trying to enter through the garage. However, the route was blocked and inaccessible. With promptness and determination, the carabinieri broke a window to gain access to the interior of the house, braving the thick smoke and flames to reach the old woman and her seven dogs.”
The activity of the Carabinieri, underlines Sim CC, «demonstrates the courage and dedication of the colleagues who, despite the imminent danger, rescued the woman and her beloved animals, bringing them outside safe and sound. An act of heroism on the part of the Naples SOS Carabinieri – concludes the union – which is not only an example of self-sacrifice and professionalism, but also represents the profound commitment of our police forces in protecting and serving the communities”.
