Pesaro 2024 discovering Monte Cerignone

From 17 to 23 June the Municipality of Monte Cerignone is the new protagonist of ’50×50: Capitals squared‘, the symbolic project of Pesaro 2024 which sees i fifty Municipalities of the Province of Pesaro and Urbinoin turn, Capital for a week along 2024. In perfect harmony with the values of Pesaro 2024, the program – entitled ‘Cultural Revelations: Monte Cerignone, Treasure of Nature – wants to make known and enhance the excellence of this fascinating village over which the Rocca Feretrana majestically dominates. The year as capital was the opportunity to train, by the Proloco, under 25s to discover the fortress: young guides who will reveal the secrets of the fortress. Also on the calendar is the tasting of local products during a candlelit aperitif, allowing yourself to be influenced by the atmosphere and unique flavors of this land.

Present at the press conference were: Silvano Straccini general director Pesaro 2024; for Monte Cerignone the mayor Davide Giorgio Giorgini, Adriana Rossi/Il Giardino di Simone association and Pro Loco board, Katia Rossi owner of Ri-bellarsi artisan brand of leather goods and accessories as a representative of the local micro economy, Franco Renzoni local singer-songwriter, Danilo Sevi/Caffè Pascucci Roasting.

I congratulate you for the Monte Cerignone program but even more so for the work done with the Pesaro 2024 staff for the construction of the various events: so he opened Silvano Straccini. We are seeing a great commitment from the Municipalities – and it was neither obvious nor simple – in trying to implement the guidelines and expectations. The theme of the nature of culture – also in the sense of the inheritance of the territories – is what guided us and the Monte Cerignone project has all the characteristics to fully represent the Pesaro 2024 project and to remind us how nature has connections with culture and how ready these two worlds are to dialogue.

As Davide Giorgio Giorginthe: Monte Cerignone is a characteristic village and the historic beating heart of Montefeltro, thanks to its centuries-old history which saw it as the seat of the Feretrano Court, residence of the Podestà and birthplace of the Feretran Statutes. Rich in particularities and naturalistic beauties, it has numerous Points of Interest, among which the Rocca Feretrana stands out, recently enriched by the newly inaugurated Mochi Photographic Museum and a prestigious location for artistic exhibitions and events. The idea of the Municipality of Pesaro which involved all the towns of the province in the “50×50 Capitals squared” project, has given and can give a notable boost to the hinterland and we would like to express public thanks for this. Participation in the project and the work carried out by the previous administration, whose work we continue, led to a quality weekly program which saw, with great satisfaction, the active involvement of local associations and citizens. There are also numerous partners involved: in addition to associations such as Proloco and “Il Giardino di Simone”, I am pleased to note the presence of the Pascucci roasting company, local economic activities, the Feretran artists’ club “CircolArt Montefeltro” and some kids from the Conservatory Rossini. The invitation is to fully experience this “our” week and then want to return to enjoy the beauty and events of the area.

Has continued Adriana Rossi: the Municipality of Monte Cerignone and the local associations boast a historic collaboration, which facilitated the creation of the program for the week in which our village will be the Italian Capital of Culture. Here, in my dual role as representative of the two major local associations, I would like to underline the events that characterize them most. Both events we propose are convivial and of great symbolic value. *For the Il Giardino di Simone Association*, born from Simone Asprea’s project and carried out with dedication and love for the territory, we organize a day full of initiatives related to the environmental theme. There will be outdoor experiences and essential oil extraction workshops. *For the Proloco*, we propose an evening at the Rocca Feretrana to remember the most important event of the village, the Mons Cerignonis Medieval Festival, which for twenty years has involved the entire population and attracted tourists to our territory. We invite everyone to discover the charm of Monte Cerignone through this important showcase, made possible thanks to Pesaro’s willingness to collaborate, and to return to enjoy the other numerous initiatives planned: the Memorial day for equestrian enthusiasts, the Vintage Market and the Festival of Bustrengo.

Still Katia Rossi: the involvement of local economic realities is fundamental in a small village that needs to network and, in this respect, the municipal proposal was immediately implemented. Proof of this is certainly the substantial participation in the “Cosa c’è DOP” project which sees three different participating activities. Also worth highlighting is the discount card present in the via degli anecdoti brochure. Of interest is the participation in the project of the MP fashion school of San Marino which, under the guidance of Maria Pidala, presents talents in the sartorial field also in our territory. Tatjana Sacco will also take part in the fashion show. She comes from this school and founded the Ca’ Ventura wedding dress tailoring shop several years ago. The event draws inspiration from the film “Poor Creatures” by Yorgos Lanthimos full of surreal atmospheres.

Franco Renzonia local singer-songwriter, presented the concert on 23 June of the ‘Folk Brigade’ which is expressed in music that is a mix of different languages such as English, Gaelic, Yiddish and various dialects, bringing everything into music, drawing on the whole Mediterranean tradition.
