ANCONA – A guided tour of the students and teachers of the third classes of the “Collodi” primary school, belonging to the “Pinocchio-Montesicuro” comprehensive institute, was held in recent days at the Customs and Monopolies Agency – Ancona office. ” of Ancona. The event saw the active participation of the Agency and the various bodies present in the Doric port, including the Border Police, the Financial Police, the Central Adriatic Sea Port System Authority (AdSP) and the Coast Guard. The participating entities collaborated with the Customs Office to organize the event, making resources and spaces available, including the AdSP meeting room, necessary to accommodate the large number of participants.
During the meeting, the director of the Ancona Customs Office explained to the students, who followed with particular interest, the role of the Customs and Monopolies Agency. He explained the numerous skills of the Agency, placing particular emphasis on the control of the safety of goods, including products commonly used by students, and on the activities to combat counterfeiting and illegal trafficking. Subsequently, the representatives of the other authorities of the port of Ancona presented their specific skills, underlining the importance of collaboration between the various bodies to guarantee border security, regulate the traffic flows of goods and passengers, and combat the trafficking of narcotics and smuggling. The enthusiastic and attentive students also participated in various external activities. They visited a ferry in the harbor, witnessed a demonstration by the Guardia di Finanza’s drug-detection dog and took part in a customs control simulation using the scanners supplied at the customs gates. The initiative proved to be an educational experience of great value, promoting understanding of the work carried out by the Agency and other bodies operating in the port, and underlining the importance of safety and legality in the circulation of goods in the context of port.
