TRAPANI – The objective of Salvo Foresta, appointed Commissioner of theIpab Residence Marino of Trapani, was that of the relaunch of the structure, but the relaunch immediately slowed down because last 7 June the structure, which hosted migrants until 2018, was the target of an act of vandalism with a fire that destroyed the wooden window frames and caused numerous damages.

“On the evening of June 7, the director of the reserve called me to report the fire. Some individuals they climbed over the gatethey entered the structure starting the fire and they destroyed the window frames,” says Salvo Foresta.

“I was nominated for the revitalization of the structure, but if we start like this I don’t know what relaunch we’re talking about. They caused a lot of damage.”

“My idea for the relaunch, at least initially – adds Foresta -, was to get in touch with the mayor and the institutions of the province of Trapani and beyond. Everything has been nullified, at least for now, byact of vandalism that puts us in difficulty.”

“The structure is located inside the salt pans. We would like to carry out recreational and artistic activities because the location is very beautiful. We hope to be able to relaunch it and that it can become a real center of interest”, concludes Foresta.
