On the eve of the European debut Italy-Albania, the former midfielder and captain of Pescara Ledian Memushaj talks about his emotions: “I will be in Dortmund, I will watch it live. Prediction? 1-1. I am Albanian but I have lived in Italy for 29 years. Let’s say my heart is halfway done. I say attention to Spalletti’s Azzurri…coach Pescara? A dream but I would already feel ready.”
With the Pescara shirt Ledian Memushaj made 238 appearances, scoring 29 goals. He arrived in the summer of 2014 fresh from a bad knee injury (coach Marco Baroni). A total of 7 championships, 5 of which were in Serie B, one in Serie A (promotion in 2016) and one in Serie C (2021/22) at the end of which the Italian-Albanian midfielder decided to quit.
As a coach, he won a Primavera 2 championship at the helm of Pescara and a very brief period in Albania as assistant to Gigi Di Biagio.
