The provincial secretary of UGL Salute Messina Fabrizio Denaro and the provincial secretary UTL-UGL Tonino Sciotto intervene on the issue of reducing waiting lists
“With the presentation of the plan for the reduction of waiting lists by the IRCCS Centro Neurolesi, the picture of the Messina companies that have prepared a plan to put an end to the waiting list emergency in the province of Messina has been completed. In one of our speeches last April, we hoped that all Messina healthcare companies would follow the example of the ASP of Messina, which was the first to adopt a dedicated plan.
All planned interventions plan performances until the evening and on holidays. These are certainly solutions proposed several times at a national and territorial level by UGL Salute Messina. Obviously we expect that the funds allocated by the Central Government for the reduction of the lists will be all spent and due recognition will be given to all healthcare workers.
As UGL Salute Messina we believe that the work to be done is not finished, we need to start working on the post-emergency now, redesigning new organizational and healthcare models so that citizens can have access to healthcare services in a timely manner to protect their health. To do this, it is necessary to adapt the staffing levels, complete the stabilization procedures and start new selections pending the application of Legislative Decree no. 73/2024 which provides, among others, for exceeding the spending ceilings, increasing the 20% of the hourly rates for the additional services of healthcare personnel, and finally, as UGL Salute had repeatedly requested, the application of a flat tax of 15% on overtime beyond the income of the individual operator.
