We wanted to take a couple of days to reflect on the outcome of the latest European elections, which saw Fratelli d’Italia achieve an unexpected result for many – but not for us – which projects the local club into a new, even more decisive dimension. than it already was.

In a historical moment in which abstentionism reigns supreme, Fratelli d’Italia, thanks to Giorgia Meloni, achieved 21% of the votes among voters in Molfetta, with a positive growth trend of 3% compared to the political elections of 2022.

We want to thank the 3734 people from Molfetta who chose to vote for Brothers of Italy, firmly establishing it as the city’s second party, behind a PD boosted by Antonio Decaro’s electoral boom.

But given that our stylistic code is largely more marked by intellectual honesty than the local exponents of Elly Schlein’s party, we recognize as “ours” the result achieved by the candidate for the European Parliament whom we have supported from the first moment, Michele Picaro, elected in Brussels with over 55 thousand preferences, of which 1044 obtained in Molfetta.

This result places him, in Molfetta, behind only the figures Decaro and Annunziata, who campaigned on their own, contrary to what the local PD and a large part of the Minervini-Tammacco majority say, and ahead of the Molfetta candidate Carmela Minuto, the only one to play at home.

We are proud to have carried out a consensus gathering the likes of which we have not seen in our city for some time: speaking with citizens, to whom we opened the doors of our headquarters day and night, telling them who Michele Picaro is and why he would be the right man. to represent us in Europe.

The people of Molfetta who wanted to listen to us understood this and rewarded our human and political commitment.

We will have an MEP who has always been there for us and who will always be there for Molfetta. And this is the best gift we could have given her.
