Silvia Calderoni

Milk teeth (Fandango books, 2023)

Introduces: Cecilia Caleolibrarian at the “FD Guerrazzi” Labronica Library in Livorno for Cooperativa Itinera.

THE BOOK
The novel probes the sensorial field of childhood, transforming the perception of reality into an experience of continuous investigation. Seeing, hearing: every sense is activated in a non-conformist search for the truth which, in the eyes of the young protagonist, presents itself as a fearsome object to be studied, analyzed and dissected, revealing that nothing is as it appears at first sight. With a stripped-down and poetic writing, Calderoni recounts a raw and authentic age – which is already a prelude to adult life – lived in Lugo, a small town in the Emilia-Romagna province. This book stands out for its indefinable originality and profound humanity, offering readers a unique and tremendously human narrative experience.
