FdI Lombardia against Salis: “Erp tenant in default. The Region should recover the sum”

On Ilaria Salis’s supposed arrears as a tenant of a public house, the Brothers of Italy group in the Lombardy regional council moves from declarations to action

The anti-Salis instrument is a motion first signed by Marcello Ventura which will be presented in the Pirellone chamber next Tuesday and which will serve, if approved, to commit President Attilio Fontana and the council to do everything possible to recover the sums not paid by the teacher detained in Prague, who Fdi quantifies it at 90,000 euros according to “press sources”, therefore not from the Aler company. “The failure to pay rent by the assignees of public housing creates significant economic damage for the managing public body,” writes Ventura, who after the presentation of the motion also obtained the signatures of the group leader Christian Garavaglia and the councillors, all from Fratelli d’Italia, Giuseppe Bernardi Martignoni, Patrizia Baffi, (former Pd and Italia Viva now president of the health commission), Pietro Macconi, Giacomo Zamperini and Giorgio Bontempi. “The figure of the MEP represents a role of high responsibility and example for citizens; therefore, he should fulfill his economic and legal obligations above reproach.”

To Salis – never mentioned in the motion, which however identifies her as a ‘MEP’ – “despite the reminders sent by the managing body, the accumulated debt has not been paid and no valid justifications have been provided for the arrears“.
The motion therefore believes that compliance with the rules and contractual obligations must be guaranteed by all citizens, without exceptions for those who hold important institutional positions”. And therefore “it is necessary to proceed with the adoption of effective measures for the recovery of the sums owed, to protect the public interest”. Finally, the Fdi motion asks “to verify, in light of the recent assignment, the continued existence of the income requirements for the purposes of assigning accommodation”.
