Fiumicino reveals «La Via del Gusto» a culinary and oenological journey, with a stop at Lazio beer, which runs along the Via della Torre Clementina. An event for the weekend of 15 and 16 June which will attract, under the stars starting from 6pm, lovers of music, food, wine and art.
It promises to be a transversal event the first edition of «La Via del Gusto» in Fiumicino, which will involve the general public and with an element as a backdrop: the sea. The event conceived by the association of traders of Via della Torre Clementina and Centro Storico, with the patronage of the Lazio Region and the Municipality of Fiumicino will be organized by the RistorAgency.
The event will open with the classic ribbon cutting. «We are thrilled to present the first edition of La Via del Gusto, an event that celebrates the best of our food and wine tradition – declared the mayor of Fiumicino Mario Baccini -. A strategic event that not only represents an opportunity to taste excellent wines and foods, but also a way to enhance local restaurant activities and promote culture and art in our community. We expect a large turnout and invite all citizens and tourists to participate.”
How to participate
To be able to access the tasting, like this conceived by the organization, you will be able to purchase a “kit” including a glass and tokens for tastings, and walk and enjoy the restaurant activities accompanied by background music and the scent of the sea. There will be 54 entities involved in the event: 27 catering businesses (including restaurants, bistros, taverns, pizzerias, bars and pastry shops), 26 wineries and 1 brewery. Along the street, from 6pm to midnight, the special gazebos set up for the occasion will offer small tastings of their most iconic dishes, as well as wines from the associated companies, coming from all over Lazio. These food-wine pairings will also continue in participating restaurants on 15 and 16 June. The promoters of the event have studied 27 combinations between restaurants and wineries, and also arranged 27 stations for the exhibition of works that will be competing at the artistic prize of the same name «La Via del Gusto», coordinated by the artistic director Otello Romani.
