Turin Pride parades in the centre: here are the closed streets – Turin News

Turin is preparing for Pride. The procession will start from Corso Principe Eugenio around 4.30pm on Saturday 15 June. The demonstration for rights will move towards Piazza Vittorio Veneto, where it is expected to arrive in the evening. “Of love and struggle” is the slogan chosen by Turin Pride for this year’s parade. «We want to forcefully reclaim all our forms of love and relationships, whatever geometry they have» explained the coordinator of Turin Pride Luca Minici, on the occasion of the press conference to present the event. “We demand a better society for all people,” he added.

Path
The procession will march along Corso Principe Eugenio, Corso Beccaria up to Piazza Statuto. From there, it will move towards Corso San Martino, Piazza XVIII Dicembre, Via Cernaia, Via Pietro Micca, Piazza Castello, Viale Primo Maggio, Viale Partigiani, Corso San Maurizio (central carriageway), along Po Cadorna, to finally arrive in Piazza Vittorio Veneto .

The path will be closed to cars (including bicycles and scooters), starting from 2pm and cannot be crossed. «The roads crossed by the demonstration and those that cross the route will be closed for the time necessary to guarantee the safe passage of the procession» they say from Palazzo Civico. Due to the numerous unpredictable variables, including the number of participants and the pace of the journey, it is not possible to establish the times and duration of the closures in advance, “therefore, it is advisable to use alternative roads” say the organizers .

Roads closed
To allow the events to take place on foot, Corso Palestro, Corso Bolzano and the stretch between Corso Matteotti and Piazza XVIII Dicembre will be closed; Corso Vinzaglio (between Corso Matteotti and Via Cernaia); Corso Galileo Ferraris (Matteotti and via Cernaia) and Corso Siccardi. Restrictions also in Piazza Solferino, Corso Re Umberto, Via San Francesco d’Assisi, Via XX Settembre, Via Po, Via Rossini, Via Vanchiglia, Lungo Po Diaz, Corso Cairoli. The Ponte Vittorio Emanuele I (Gran Madre bridge) will also be closed.

Along the entire route, a parking ban will be in force with forced removal for all vehicles, including bicycles and scooters, from 9 am on June 15th until the end of the event (11 pm). The exits of the underground car park in Piazza Vittorio Veneto will also be closed.
Public transport
Likewise, the routes of public transport vehicles passing through the area affected by the event will also undergo some diversions from 1.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
