The company Atlantide studies and environmental and tourist services, with registered office in Cervia, is the new concessionaire of the Ecology Museum of Cesena identified, through the most economically advantageous offer, within the open tender procedure (experimented by the Stazione Unica Contractor of the Union of Municipalities “Valle del Savio”) for the assignment of the integrated concession of the services to be carried out at the museum complex located in Piazza Pietro Zangheri 6, between Piazza del Popolo and the Rocca Malatestiana. The Atlantide cooperative will take care of all the activities planned for the next three years on the basis of an economic and financial plan of 138,594 euros, including all costs and revenues relating to ticketing services, guided tours, educational activities, and other initiatives that the manager will be able to undertake.

The concession assignment concerns all the integrated management activities of the services to be carried out in the spaces of the Museum of Ecology – Visitor Center for natural spaces: opening and closing of the spaces; custody, surveillance and access control; ticketing and booking; reception, welcome and public information; guided tours; educational activities; conservation and care activities for museographic displays and collections; promotion and valorisation activities of the Museum and the local natural heritage.

The Museum, which can be accessed from Piazzetta Pietro Zangheri and which overlooks Piazza del Popolo through the suggestive Venetian loggia, was reopened to the public on 15 December 2018, with a renewed layout and a new program of activities, and is the operational headquarters of the Ceas, the Sustainability Education Center of the Municipality, and houses an interesting collection of the main fauna species coming largely from the Savio Valley. In addition to the scientific collections, it has a conference room where every year free workshops are organized with schools and cultural initiatives for all citizens.

The fifteenth-century Venetian Loggia and Torre del Nuti complete the internal rooms, enhancing the cultural/scientific center also from a historical point of view, as well as giving the visitor one of the most spectacular views of Cesena, both overlooking Piazza del Popolo.
