Anmil commissioner, territorial council: “Unfair, we resign”

There Anmil headquarters in Piacenza was placed under commission. The territorial council considers the decision unfair and announces her resignation in a note.

ANMIL COMMISSIONER, THE NOTE FROM THE TERRITORIAL COUNCIL

“A real earthquake with a magnitude of 9.5 on the Richter scale is the one that hit our territorial headquarters of Anmil Piacenza (national association of disabled and disabled workers) in the aftermath of the votes that have (would have?) the territorial council was renewed, which should have remained in office for the next 5 years. “Like a bolt from the blue – remarks the resigning board together with Maurizio Manfredi outgoing president – we have learned that they had been commissioned by the central electoral commission. In fact we do not believe we have committed any significant irregularity but we do accused of having put only 9 candidates on the list to elect the next 7 councilors and not 11 as required by the reference regulation”. As you will remember, because our newspaper also followed the proceedings of the Anmil congress, the voting took place at the association house in via Musso and the following were elected: Giuliano Anselmi, Roberto Carini, Francesco Castelli, Mauro Braga, Federica Zuccolini, Paola Campisi and Maurizio Manfredi. “If we think about the effort we have made in these last 4 years to give concrete answers to our members, – continue the resigners, between angry and disappointed – with the office often closed due to the layoffs that affected our employees at a national level due to the disastrous economic situation in which our Association found itself and continues to find itself.

Covid, which has created many small problems for us and slowed down all our activity but which we have nevertheless carried forward with great commitment, considers this decision absurd, especially also because during the assembly all the critical issues were obviously debated by the provincial delegates and especially the delays of a few months on employee payments struck the audience. When the willingness of the respondents to take on a role of commitment and responsibility such as that of the territorial councilor was asked, only 9 confirmed their availability with conviction. What were we supposed to do? To fake the situation?

It seems really silly to us to write it off due to a bureaucratic technicality, because this is what it is, given that in any case the 7 members were duly elected and that there were 2 others on the bench ready to come in if someone resigned. Among other things, with the economic situation in which ANMIL finds itself at a national level, placing a commissioner means increasing management costs and this is a further aspect that should have been taken into serious consideration”.

“With this statement, we, the councilors and the president currently in office, until the appointment of the commissioner by the central office, even if we are at the end of the legislature, believe it is necessary to make everyone understand well what really happened and to dispel any misinterpretation on the part of anyone of the commissionership of the Anmil Section of Piacenza!”.

Beyond the aforementioned considerations on the regulation, of which we take note, the suspicion is that the activities conducted to date by our territorial council are not in line with the policies and management of the headquarters.

We highlighted several times during the territorial council the need for greater clarity and transparency both on issues strictly linked to the historical activity of our Association, and above all on the lack of consideration given to internal staff, who provided themselves with professionalism and punctuality in the various activities and services.

The doubt could become certainty since in our same situation we know there are other Anmil territorial offices. With bitterness.”
