(AGENPARL) – Thu 13 June 2024 Ragoleto-Dirillo Dam, Confagricoltura Ragusa: “The situation remains blocked, while the Ipparino farms are dying”
After the activation of Confagricoltura Ragusa to ask for more functional management of the Ragoleto-Dirillo reservoir, which serves the Acate-Pedalino sub-district (around 1200 companies, including structured entities that employ thousands of workers and which extend for several thousands of hectares), there was a meeting in the Prefecture, another at the Reclamation Consortium, the President of the Region was involved, the CGIL, CISL and UIL unions asked for the intervention of HE the Prefect, a request also shared by the mayors of Comiso, Acate and Vittoria. All this did not help to move the situation one millimeter, nothing has changed compared to before.
“We have moved from concern to awareness of the ongoing drama”, declares the Director of Confagricoltura Ragusa, Giovanni Scucces. “We reiterate our appeal to all the institutions involved – he adds – to put in place decisive interventions that can no longer be postponed, time is over and we cannot helplessly watch the death of our agricultural and livestock companies”.
