16 million expected in settlement to enhance quality tourist accommodation Udine, 13 June – “For the commercial district of Udine the regional administration has allocated 500 thousand euros and if we also broaden our gaze to the districts bordering the Udine one (Tresemane and Eastern Friuli ), the total resources amount to over 1.2 million euros. The recovery of the tertiary sector in Friuli Venezia Giulia goes hand in hand with the growth of tourism, which also recorded a significant increase in the presence of foreigners in Udine in the first quarter. of the year (+11%). Precisely to cope with the renewed tourist attractiveness of the regional territory and the requests of visitors, as a Region we are also committed to quality accommodation. This is demonstrated by the success of the recent tender for the establishment of four or more star hotel facilities in mountain areas, which will be able to count on a further allocation of 16 million euros in the next assessment to cover the applications received; furthermore, given the reception of the initiative, we will aim to extend it beyond the mountain area”. This was communicated by the regional councilor for Productive Activities and Tourism Sergio Emidio Bini, on the occasion of the presentation at Palazzo D’Aronco in Udine, of the Udine summit for trade and organized growth (Succo) scheduled for next June 17th at the Udine Castle, i.e. the general states of the sector for a day of reflection and discussion desired by the Municipality of Udine with the Commerce District, the Region and the Pordenone Udine Chamber of Commerce. The material produced during the summit will then be reworked into a document and presented at a subsequent return event scheduled for 27 June. “At the moment – explained the representative of the Council – there are 20 districts of the trade made up of 123 Municipalities of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Region has allocated over 12 million euros to support the projects presented. But the process of aggregation and involvement of the Municipalities is continuing and new commercial districts will soon be made official, with the Region ready to guarantee the allocation of new and further resources”. Going into detail about the summit, Bini underlined that “the today’s positive initiative will allow us to listen to the needs of professionals and follows the method that the department I chair has always tried to carry forward, i.e. sharing and discussion with stakeholders in the choices made by politicians. Making choices without first listening to the experts is not profitable and often leads to counterproductive results”. Today’s initiative which saw the participation, among others, of the mayor Alberto Felice De Toni with the municipal councilor Alessandro Venanzi, Maria Lucia Pilutti for the Pordenone-Udine Chamber of Commerce, the mayor of Pavia di Udine Beppino Govetto for the eastern Friuli district and, representing the Municipality of Tavagnacco and the Tresemane district, the councilor Andrea Martini, sees the Municipality, Region collaborating Friuli Venezia Giulia, Cciaa Pn-Ud and various institutional and economic partners to identify new solutions and strategies, in order to systematize all the stakeholders in the Udine hinterland and contribute to the economic growth of the territory districts we wanted to support the public administrations so that they worked not only for urban animation works and redevelopment of the public areas of the historic centers but also, and above all, to accompany small local businesses in the challenges of modernity, from digitalisation to the energy transition, and thus stimulate the growth of local trade” reiterated Bini, convinced of the value of the districts as a tool for the revitalization of historic centers “especially for small municipalities but also for cities, against the risk of desertification”.
