At the Mav in Ercolano the compasses of the world: between cinema and women

A digital exhibition which, hosted in the museum space completely reconfigured for the occasion, explores Truffaut’s cinema and the female world that runs through his entire work.

The exhibition, with free entry, will remain on the program until August 10th, only in the evening. Consult the MAV website page www.museomav.it/icompassidelmondo for opening times and days)

The exhibition is a paradise of female beauty, as Fellini would have wanted (The city of women), an author adored by Truffaut: a spring anthology of legs, a large bouquet of ‘compasses’, young, straight, well-shaped.

On the 40th anniversary of Truffaut’s death (21 October 2024), the exhibition is a long parable: punctuated in his films by as many seductive parables of female charm. Compasses, those of Bernadette Lafont, in the first accessible short film, Les Mistonscompasses those of Fanny Ardant, his last great love, in Vivement tomorrow! The exhibition retraces Truffaut’s entire cinema, putting it back into motion, with frames and a series of still images, the legs of his female firmament, from Catherine Deneuve to Jeanne Moreau, from Isabelle Adjani to Françoise Dorléac.

During the evening the exhibition catalog will also be presented, The compasses of the worldpublished by Cronopio Editore.
