We will have to do this journey without a champion like Ranieri, but we must be good at taking his teachings and carrying them forward.”
We lost Ranieri along the way, but we all know the reasons for his choice and we saw the love that the Sardinian people recognized for him. I think the right time had come for him to say goodbye too. We have chosen a profile, well identified after a series of surveys, and we have chosen it with a view to continuity compared to the path traced by Claudio Ranieri regarding the spirit and work with young people and in the space of a few days it we will make it official” (it will be Davide Nicola, ed).
Which coach profile was chosen? “We wanted a profile on the bench that would give continuity, a profile that would enhance young people and a team like Cagliari is ideal for this. Then Serie A always asks for a mix of experience and youth.”
Will the new coach have to at least initially clash with Ranieri’s shadow?
“Ranieri was a champion, but he still had to be replaced. We tried to make him give up, but he made his decision. It is obvious that there will be some difficulties, but all together, with work, we will only be able to benefit from his teachings and to move on”.
