L’AQUILA – Work has begun for the construction of raised pedestrian crossings in Viale della Croce Rossa. One-way alternating in correspondence with the works.
As announced by the Local Public Transport and Sustainable Mobility Sector of the Municipality of L’Aquila, work began this morning for the construction of raised pedestrian crossings in Viale della Croce Rossa. For the completion of the works it was necessary to establish briefs alternate unique sense in correspondence with the works. Some slowdowns in road traffic are inevitable, but traffic does not appear to be experiencing any critical issues at the moment. The works will continue tomorrow, June 14th.
In order to reduce traffic disruption, we waited for the end of lessons at schools, bringing forward the start of work to 5:00 am to allow free movement already in the afternoon. The project, approved with City Council Resolution no. 351/2023, financed with PNRR funds, provides for the construction of 9 pedestrian crossings, 4 of which are raised, for a total cost of 100 thousand euros.
For the execution of the intervention, the Municipal Police Command issued ordinance n.184/T/2024 of 7 June 2024 which provides:
– the establishment of the alternate one-way system managed by movieri for Thursday 13 June from 05:00 to 18:00 with a ban on transit for buses and mass vehicles exceeding 3.5 tonnes;
– the establishment of a ban on vehicular transit with closure of the roadway for Friday 14 June from 05:00 to 16:00 in the stretch between viale Ovidio and via Monte Camicia and in the stretch between via Piani di Pezza and via Vicentini.
