37 year old saved by the Fire Brigade – Nordest24

VERONA – Late yesterday evening, around 11.30pm, i Verona Fire Brigade were called for an emergency response. A 37-year-old man had jumped from the Stone Bridge in the Adige river, swimming until reaching the area of Lungadige Sammicheli.

Rescue operation

The firefighters quickly arrived on site with two vehicles and seven operators, including personnel specialized in river rescue. Thanks to the use of a ladder truck, they managed to recover the man, who in the meantime had been kept safe thanks to a rope thrown by police officers.

The intervention of the Fire Brigade

The operation saw effective collaboration between the Fire fighters and the Police, who worked with precision and timing to bring the unfortunate victim to safety. Once recovered from the water, the man was taken to a safe area and entrusted to the care of the staff 118.

The speed and effectiveness of the intervention avoided possible tragedies, demonstrating once again the importance and professionalism of the emergency services. The man, although worn out by the experience, did not suffer serious consequences thanks to the prompt intervention of the rescuers.
