Villanova del Battista, Ernesto Iorizzo: among the youngest mayors in Campania

Villanova del Battista

Ernesto Iorizzo 34 years old. We don’t remember such a young mayor since the post-war period Villanova del Battista in Irpinia. We are in one of the strategic municipalities of the Ufita Valley which overlooks the large construction site of the Hirpinia station and the high capacity Naples-Bari. For the new guide of the country, the adventure has just begun.

Biologist specialist in clinical nutrition at the Criscuoli Frieri hospital in Sant’Angelo dei Lombardi. Always involved in social issues and in the world of prevention

“I strongly believe that to administer a Municipality it is first of all important to know how to listen, mediate, find the right synthesis through discussion and mutual respect, questioning, when necessary, even one’s own choices.

These have always been and still are for me the indispensable principles for a municipal administration that is inclusive and truly open to citizens.

I like to think of Villanova as a community on the move, in which everyone’s contribution, regardless of political affiliation, is absolutely fundamental for the safeguarding and protection of the common good, a concept to be instilled in everyone and especially in the new generations, leaving aside hatred and jealousy, just like after a sporting match, there must be a third half, to shake hands with the opponent and move forward together.

And on these indispensable principles I cannot hide the pride of being supported by a team of capable and competent people with whom I have decided to embark on this journey.

And so even today, in many contexts, especially in our local politics, it is necessary to always look for something that unites us and never something that divides us.

And I am sure that love for our country can unite us, moving forward together with an eye towards the future, truly hoping that it is the beginning of a new era.”
