First it was Wednesday, that is today. Before that it was Friday or Monday (the famous 7th and 10th June) and we no longer remember the previous dates, from the end of April to today. It now appears to be Saturday June 15th. The day of decisions by Danilo Iervolino slips again and Salernitana is still suspended, without director and coach. We are witnessing a surreal situation that has been going on for weeks, or rather months. The latest indications speak of new talks with representatives of Brera Holdings, the fund interested in purchasing the company.
Iervolino intends to sell but it remains to be seen whether the right times and conditions exist. And so, when we have now reached mid-June, both hypotheses remain valid: Ievolino gives in or stays. Every other day, the percentages of these two hypotheses change but honestly it is annoying as well as useless to keep up with all this because what was said a few days before is promptly contradicted based on the indications that are conveyed. There is only one point: Iervolino must clarify what he wants to do with Salernitana.
He must do it now and not tomorrow. As we have been saying for weeks, the time for decisions is over. The fans deserve respect, especially after the disastrous last season. Also because the pre-meeting phase starts in three weeks and the retreat in Rivisondoli in less than a month. Once the club’s future has been clarified, we need to hire sporting director and coach. As said, we think back to Gianluca Petrachi, the Maiorino option remains after having also heard from Polito. In case Petrachi arrives, Sottil could be on the bench.
