The “Carmina Burana” concert will be held on Saturday 22 June at 9pm, in Piazzale Cesare Ottaviano Augusto. The event will see the participation of over one hundred singers from the “Ruggero Giovannelli”, “Harmonia Vocalis” and “Scuola Musica Popolare di Testaccio Roma Percussion Ensemble” choirs, directed by Maestro Claudio Maria Micheli. Together, they will perform the opera with original music by Carl Orff.

The Carmina Burana are poetic texts of great value contained in the Codex Buranus, a precious 13th century manuscript from the Benediktbeuern convent. Using two pianos and percussion, the opera will be performed according to Orff’s original vision.

The concert will be a unique opportunity for music and multiculturalism to meet, a dialogue between the instruments and voices of popular tradition that will make the evening unforgettable. This is a Europa Musica project, with the collaboration of the City of Velletri and local associations, including Cento Città in Musica, Pro loco Velitrae and Artistamente.

The Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture, Chiara Ercoli, invites citizens to participate in the event.
