Bomb alarm returned, after Polfer checks at the Santa Maria Novella station in Florence, on Frecciatrossa train 9540 from Naples and Milan. The alert came from a message via web to the Railways.

It happened today, Wednesday 12 June, around 4pm. The railway police immediately began checks: the train was stopped in Florence and evacuatedto carry out checks. All passengers with their luggage were taken off the train, while bomb squad, railway police and state police canine units boarded the convoy for checks. The tracks close to the one where the train undergoing investigation is stopped are also closed.

In the end it was established that it was a false alarm.

Former Prime Minister Massimo D’Alema was also traveling on the train.

However, the repercussion on train circulation was important: the Av convoys they were routed on the alternative route and stopped in Firenze Rifredi instead of Firenze Santa Maria Novella.

Train 9540 he then left over 90 minutes late.
