REGGIO EMILIA – “The humanity of error” explores the boundary between artifice and nature in the era of Artificial Intelligence. The work, created by the Frame Collective with the supervision of Alessandro Scillitani, is based on the theme of the twenty-third edition of the Reggio Film Festival. In its first ever presentation and with free admission, the cinema season under the stars will open this evening at 9pm at the Stalloni Arena in via Samarotto.

After the opening evening dedicated to young directors, the cinema will offer various important titles every evening in the months of June and July. Among the unmissable “Io Capitano” by Matteo Garrone (15 June), best film of the year according to the New York Times, and then Wim Wenders’ masterpiece, “Perfect Days” (16 June), box office hit and true phenomenon of the season.

On Monday 17th the Arena’s big screen will host “The Zone of Interest” by Jonathan Glazer, Oscar 2024 for best international film, which tells the horror of the Holocaust. The biopic on the life of Amy Winehouse, Back to Black, signed by director Sam Taylor-Johnson will arrive at the Arena in via Samarotto on Sunday 14 July.

This year too we will find the two shows that have now become classics: “Cinema under the stars” and “It happened tomorrow” organized by the Municipality’s Cinema Office. Twelve evenings of the first series, which delve into two cinematographic fields: classic cinema revived in the restored version and some film titles produced and made in our region. The focus of the event will be three evenings – with free entry – of the cinema in Piazza Prampolini where they will be shown: “Ennio” by Giuseppe Tornatore (16 July), “A Fistful of Dollars” by Sergio Leone (23 July) and “Marriage at Italian” by Vittorio de Sica (30 July).

Among the films filmed in the region, Kissing Gorbachev. On the other hand, It Happened Tomorrow has always offered the best of Italian cinema presented by the authors themselves. Among others, on June 19 Michele Riondino presents Palazzina Laf which marks his directorial debut. On June 27th the actress Maria Vittoria Dallasta presents “Gloria!”. On June 28 Paolo D’Ambrosi will talk about his “Food For Profit”. On July 9th Riccardo Milani will be there to introduce his latest work with Antonio Albanese to the Arena spectators. On July 15, director Giorgio Diritti will present “Lubo”, in competition in Venice. In case of bad weather the films will be shown at the Rosebud Cinema.
