Trani – Via Andria underpass, Article 97: “Another broken promise”

“It was February 18, 2018 when a petition was presented, with around 150 signaturesby residents in the Via Andria neighborhood to ask for the construction of a underpass for cars, at least pedestrian and cycle path” – the complaint is from the Civic Movement Article97 of Trani, in the persons of the President, Giuseppe Curci and the Secretary, Raffaele Covelli.

Since then nothing, only promises and proclamations, but to date nothing. In the meantime, on the other side of the railway, a park has been designed and built (not yet inaugurated) and redevelopment works are being carried out, including a cycle path and other green spaces (we hope) for children, which will make the neighborhood more liveable.

Meanwhile, those who want to cross from one side of the railway to the other, so as not to use the bridge on Via Papa Giovanni XXIII (as the float of the procession of the Madonna dell’Apparition does), have found another method: climb over the railway wallwith the risk of being hit by a train arriving at high speed.

A neighborhood divided by a wall, a neighborhood that is the subject of many promises but for which no effective solutions have yet been found, perhaps financed by a lot of money that someone doesn’t know how to spend!” – concludes the Civic Movement Article97 of Trani.
