Legnano: greater support for students with DSA

In Legnano the new project for children with DSA offers personalized support through compensatory software and laboratory activities for middle school students, promoting inclusion and preventing educational failure

Since mid-April, the Municipality of Legnano has collaborated with the Albatros cooperative to start an experimental project aimed at 24 pupils in the third year of middle school suffering from specific learning disorders (DSA).

Students with DSA they can read and write, but to do so they must use all their energy. They can easily get tired, distracted, make mistakes and feel distressed. Ignoring their needs can cause them significant emotional problems.

The target? Offer them a targeted support in the preparation for state exams and in the creation of the final paper.

The project involved students in 24 hours of laboratory activities, during which they were used compensatory softwarespecially trained operators and programs fororganization of the study and the creation of concept maps. This initiative, the municipality explains, aims to encourage awide inclusion of students with DSAwhich represent the 7% of students at a national level, in order to prevent educational failure and school dropout.

The support offered includes the creation of personalized plans to allow all students to express themselves adequately at school and in subsequent study paths. This innovative project not only aims to provide support to students with DSA, but also to promote an inclusive school environment and raise awareness in the community about the importance of meet the needs of all studentsregardless of their individual challenges.
