The preferences podium in the municipal elections of Montale sees on the top step the former councilor for public works and candidate of the centre-left Alessio Guazzini with 259 preferences, on the second step ex aequo two candidates with 180 preferences, namely the former councilor for social Sandra Neri from the centre-left list and the candidate from the Montale civic list. Cecilia Innocenti, president of the Circolo Arci of Montale, is reborn. In third place is a centre-right candidate, Michael Paperetti, elected to the city council for the first time with 160 preferences. The new city council will be made up of twelve councilors from the centre-left “Montale concrete” list of mayor Ferdinando Betti, three councilors from the centre-right civic list “Noi per Montale”, of mayoral candidate Lorenzo Bandinelli, and two councilors from the civic list “Montale is reborn” by mayoral candidate Sandro Nincheri. The centre-left majority will include, in addition to the mayor elected for the third term Ferdinando Betti, Alessio Guazzini and Sandra Neri, also Francesco Barontini, exponent of the socialist party, with 135 preferences, Bianca Mannelli (92 preferences), Luisa Innocenti (79), Mascia Cecchi, vice-president of Italia Viva della Piana Pistoiese (77 preferences), Marco Bernardini (68), Paola Pizzano (57), Salvador Righi, municipal secretary of the Democratic Party (55 preferences), Alessandro Galardini of the civic list “Vivere Montale” (49 preferences) and Tiziano Pierucci, outgoing councilor for culture (45 preferences). First of the non-elected is Daniela Accorgi (38), followed by the other non-elected Gianni Garbesi, former councilor with responsibility for sport (32), Simona Becciani (31), Paola Meoni (19) and Adriano Borchi (9).
The two minority council groups are composed as follows. In the center-right “Noi per Montale” list, mayoral candidate Lorenzo Bandinelli, Michael Paperetti (160) and Renato Mele (81 preferences) will sit on the council. The “Montale reborn” group will be made up of the candidate for mayor Sandro Nincheri and Cecilia Innocenti (180 preferences). The center-right candidate Alberto Fedi, who was a city councilor for three legislatures and in one term, 2009-2014, also president of the city council, will not sit in the city council. In the centre-right the first of the non-elected is Greta Cavaciocchi with 74 preferences. In the Montale Rinasce list the first of the non-elected is Gianfranco Masci with 116 preferences.
