Savona, Police Commissioner Simone visits the Port Authority – Savonanews.it

The Police Commissioner of Savona, Alessandra Simone, visited the headquarters of the Port Authority yesterday morning, meeting the military personnel.

Welcomed by the Head of the Maritime Department, CV (CP) Matteo Lo Presti, the main operational activities carried out by the Savonese Coast Guard were illustrated to Police Commissioner Simone. These include the protection of human life at sea, the safety of maritime navigation, the protection of the marine and coastal environment, and the supervision and control of fishing activities.

After the signing of the book of honour, where the Commissioner expressed his deep satisfaction for the maritime institution, the visit continued with an outing at sea on board the SAR CP 863 patrol boat. During the navigation, part of the coast of jurisdiction of the Maritime Compartment, currently affected by the “Safe Seas and Lakes” operation, aimed at protecting maritime and seaside activities on the coast.

Subsequently, still on board the patrol boat, the ports of Savona and Vado Ligure were visited, where the main activities underway in the two ports were illustrated to the Police Commissioner.

Commander Lo Presti expressed great satisfaction with the meeting: “A visit in the name of constant synergy between the Maritime Authority and the highest provincial public safety authority”.
