Monsignor Camillo Cibotti is the new President of the Abruzzo Molise Episcopal Conference.

Cardinal Giuseppe Petrocchi, approaching the end of his ministry as Ordinary in L’Aquila, has resigned from the position of President of the Abruzzo Molise Episcopal Conference (CEAM). In his place, Monsignor Camillo Cibotti, Bishop of Isernia-Venafro, was chosen as his successor, in view of the summer commitments that the CEAM will have to face in preparation for the next Jubilee in 2025.
In the June 10 session of the Episcopal Conference, Monsignor Camillo Cibotti, Bishop of Isernia-Venafro, were elected as President and, at the same time, Monsignor Emidio Cipollone, Archbishop of Lanciano-Ortona as Vice President and Monsignor Antonio D’Angelo as Secretary, Coadjutor Archbishop of L’Aquila. Therefore a time for novelties, but also for reconfirmations, given that Pope Francis will be at the end of May he reconfirmed Monsignor Bruno Forte for another two years, until 2026, at the helm of the Archdiocese of Chieti-Vasto and, at the same time, appointed him a member of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.

HE Mons. Camillo CIBOTTI He is from Abruzzo, born in Casalbordino (Chieti) on 28 October 1954. After completing his philosophical-theological studies at the Regional Seminary of Chieti, he continued his studies in Rome, where he obtained a licentiate in moral theology at the Pontifical Alphonsian Academy. He was ordained a priest on 1 July 1978 and is incardinated in the archdiocese of Chieti-Vasto. He held the following roles and ministries: parish priest in Liscia (1978-1985); spiritual father at the Regional Seminary (1985-1988); parish priest in Ripa Teatina (1988-1994); parish priest of the SS.ma Trinità dei Pellegrini in Chieti and rector of the Church of S. Domenico in Chieti (1994-2005); vicar general of Chieti-Vasto (2005-2014). He was also Professor of Moral Theology at the Abruzzo-Molisano Theological Institute, Episcopal Vicar for the Laity and Assistant to the Diocesan Council for the Laity. Since 5 December 2005 he has been Chaplain to His Holiness. On 8 May 2014 the Holy Father Francis appointed him Bishop of Isernia-Venafro; he then received his episcopal ordination on 11 June 2014 in Casalbordino and entered the diocese on 28 June 2014. On 5 July of the same year, on the occasion of the announcement of the Celestinian Jubilee Year, he welcomed Pope Francis in Pastoral Visit to Isernia. He is CEAM delegate for the Liturgy.
