Searches were carried out, as well as in Tuscia, in the provinces of Rome, Frosinone, Barletta-Andria-Trani, Caserta, Como, Cuneo, Palermo, Reggio Emilia and Sassari: numerous computer devices containing tens of thousands of files with child pornography content were found. In the investigation, a 27-year-old from the province of Frosinone and a 46-year-old from the province of Sassari ended up in handcuffs for possession of a large quantity of child pornography.
The investigation starts from the analysis of transactions carried out for the purchase of child pornography material on closed groups of a well-known messaging platform, where child pornography material was allegedly put up for sale and purchased. The operation, coordinated by the Bari prosecutor’s office, was conducted by the operational center for cyber security of the “Puglia” postal and communications police with the coordination of the National Center for combating online child pornography (Cncpo) of the postal police service and for cyber security.
«The two men – explain the police – were arrested for flagrant crime for possession of a large quantity of child pornography material. This is a 27-year-old in the province of Frosinone and a 46-year-old in the province of Sassari.” In total there are 13 search decrees issued by the Bari prosecutor’s office against as many suspects in the provinces of Barletta-Andria-Trani, Caserta, Como, Cuneo, Frosinone, Palermo, Reggio Emilia, Rome, Sassari, Viterbo. «The activity, conducted by the operational center for cyber security – Puglia Postal and Communications Police, with the coordination of the National Center for the fight against online child pornography (Cncpo) of the postal police service and for cyber security, arises – explains the police – of the analyzes of the transactions carried out for the purchase of child pornography material on closed groups of a well-known messaging platform where material containing child pornography content was put up for sale and purchased.
