Great participation on June 7th at the free event organized in Reggio Calabria, at the Torrione Hotel, by the Scientific Society Form-AUPI, recognized by the Ministry of Health, by the union of Aupi Calabria Psychologists, by the Italian Federation of Psychologists, by the AIPSY Association and by the Calabria Psychologist Profession Group on the new frontiers of Psychology: “The Psychologist of Primary Care in Calabria | NeuroPsychology & DSA Guidelines”.
The event in fact explored the so-called Basic Psychologist in Calabria and the various ongoing and upcoming interventions for the psychological well-being of the population, with illustrious speakers on the proposed topics: Dr. Alessia Mirabelli | Psychologist Psychotherapist – Outpatient Specialist Primary Care Unit and Child Neuropsychiatry Unit – ASP Cosenza; Prof. Fabio Pirrotta | NeuroPsychologist – Lecturer at the Magna Grecia University of Catanzaro; Dr. Mario Sellini | Psychologist Psychotherapist – Former Director of the CSM Lamezia Terme Complex Structure – Former General Secretary of AUPI and President of Form-AUPI.
The initiative, aimed at operators in the field, thus promoted a moment of reflection and in-depth analysis on the delicate critical issues of Calabrian psychological health, which requires maximum attention regarding the various solutions and enhancements of the Health Services in each provincial reality, today more than ever current and urgent.
The training session began with greetings from Dr. Franco Campolo, Vice President of the Calabria Psychologists Association, on behalf of the Secretary Aupi Calabria and President OPC Armodio Lombardo, illustrating the work carried out and in progress for the strengthening of the Services in Calabria.
Following this, Dr. Sellini delved into the various facets of the Primary Care Psychologist up to the law being approved in Italy and Calabria.
The focus on the activities of this figure was then discussed by the Outpatient Specialist of the Cosenza Primary Care Service, Dr. Mirabelli.
In the second session of the day, Dr. Pirrotta spoke to explain the DSA intervention and adult neuropsychology.
Finally, Dr. Elisa Mottola, former Director of the San Marco Counseling Center in Reggio Calabria, also spoke, providing a contribution on the essential actions to promote Psychology in the area.
Chizzoniti intervention
At the end of the day, Mr. also spoke Dr. Rocco ChizzonitiPresident of AIPSY, who had the opportunity to discuss with the audience “of the imminent implementation in Calabria of the Basic and School Psychologist, as well as of the various actions on hiring, thanks to the productive regional and ongoing discussions with all the ASPs, also bringing the greetings of the Vice President Giusi Princi who, unable due to commitments with Governor Occhiuto in the city, wanted to thank and greet the professional psychologists, reiterating his availability to promote Psychology in Calabria in every aspect, in particular through the departing Basic and School Psychologist”.
Finally, the organizers have “thanked Colleagues for their engaging participation and also announced that a complete 100-hour training course in Calabria on Primary Care Psychologists will soon be scheduled for them, to facilitate the category in relation to skills and qualifications that can be used in the field”.
